Emergency Food Assistance
The CSS Food Pantry provides food and toiletries (as available) to individuals and families in need of emergency assistance. The program relies solely on donations from the community and serves tens of thousands throughout the year. It is designed to help those with acute food instability and who are in need of temporary assistance.
TO MAKE A DONATION OF FOOD OR TOILETRIES:
Visit our main office location to drop off unopened, non-expired, canned or dry packaged foods or toiletries between Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
OR
Make a monetary donation, which will be used to purchase needed food for the Pantry.
TO RECEIVE EMERGENCY FOOD ASSISTANCE:
Visit our main office to apply in person. You must have a copy of the below supporting documents to receive food.
Supporting Documents Required:
1. ONE (1) of the following:
~ Mayor's Verification of Residency OR
~ Lease Agreement showing names of all persons within the household
AND
2. ONE (1) of the Following:
~ Certification from DPHSS Public Welfare Division OR
~ Current Paycheck Stubs OR
~ Letter of Furlough, Reduced Hours, Reduction in Force, or Termination OR
~ Other proof of Low Income, Loss of Income, or No Income.
HOW TO GET A MAYOR'S VERIFICATION
Visit or call your village mayor's office and request for a verification of residency. Verifications may be sent to us directly via fax (671) 635-1444 or emailed to info@cssguam.org. Verifications are valid for 30 days and must be addressed to "Catholic Social Service."
HOW TO GET A CERTIFICATION FROM DPHSS
Call or visit the Guam Department of Public Health (DPHSS) Division of Public Welfare and request for a Certification. Certifications are provided at no cost, regardless of whether or not you receive public assistance.
